The West African Health Organisation (WAHO) has designated the Calibration Laboratories of the GSA as a Centre of Excellence for Metrology.
As part of this role, the GSA will provide technical support in the form of training and calibration services for National Reference Laboratories within the ECOWAS sub-region.
Additionally, the Authority has been designated as the reference laboratory by ECOMET (ECOWAS Metrology).
In this capacity, the GSA will lead intercomparison exercises as well as calibrate the reference standards of other laboratories within the ECOWAS sub-region.
These recognitions by WAHO and ECOMET highlight the GSA’s leadership in metrology within the ECOWAS region.
