Hudu Mogtari is a distinguished global health regulation strategist with over 25 years of service in Africa’s healthcare sector. Renowned for his visionary leadership and pioneering achievements, Hudu has played a pivotal role in strengthening regulatory frameworks, developing continental health norms and standards, and driving innovative approaches to medical product safety.
He notably led the African Union’s Smart Safety Surveillance (AU-3S) Programme at the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). Through this pioneering initiative, Hudu introduced a harmonized pharmacovigilance system spanning three African regions and serving over 35% of the continent’s population. As Programme Lead, he coordinated the development of Africa’s first comprehensive framework for medical product safety, significantly elevating regulatory practices and fostering public trust in health interventions.
Hudu’s impact extends to global health organizations, where he chaired the Africa Vaccines Regulatory Forum (AVAREF), contributed to the design of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Competency Framework for Regulators of Medicines (2023), and participated in the WHO Africa Infodemic Response Alliance (AIRA) to address health misinformation. He also served as a member of the Columbia University-based Vaccine Safety and Confidence-Building Working Group. His scholarly work includes pioneering research on patient-centric adverse drug reporting in Ghana and advocating for the integration of African safety data into global COVID-19 vaccine strategies.
As Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority, Hudu modernized the National Pharmacovigilance Programme, achieved ISO accreditation, ensured full compliance with WHO benchmarks, and positioned Ghana as a regional model for drug safety.
His private sector accomplishments are equally noteworthy. Over 12 years as the Ghana representative for Eli Lilly SA, Hudu drove sales growth several fold while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
Hudu holds an Executive MBA and an executive certificate in Strategic Management in Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies. He is also a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists.
Professor George Agyei
Director GeneralIng. Prof. George Agyei is a distinguished Mining Engineer, accomplished academic leader, and nationally recognized standards and quality infrastructure authority. A Full Professor at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, he serves concurrently as Acting Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) under Act 1078, bringing to that role an exceptional synthesis of scientific rigor, regulatory expertise, and executive leadership.
His academic career spans over two decades of distinguished service in teaching, research, and university administration at UMaT, culminating in the Headship of the Mining Engineering Department (2017–2024), Vice-Deanship of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Deanship of the Faculty of Mining and Minerals Technology (2025), and leadership of the Office of International Programmes. He holds a Doctor of Technical Science (DScTech) from Insituto Superior Minero Metalurgico de Moa, Cuba, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Educatis University, Switzerland, and is the author of more than 43 peer-reviewed publications cited internationally on Google Scholar.
At the intersection of Quality Infrastructure, national standards, metrology, conformity assessment, and sustainable resource governance, Prof. Agyei is uniquely positioned to contribute at the highest levels of national policymaking. His appointment to multiple national governance boards, including the Environmental Protection Authority, Ghana Bauxite Company Limited, and Takoradi Technical University attests to the confidence placed in his judgement by Government and industry alike. He is the founding Chief Executive Officer of the African Institution of Mining Professionals and Practitioners (AfIMPP), reflecting his continent-wide vision for mining professionalism. He brings multilingual competence (English, Spanish, French), international academic partnerships, and deep community roots to every leadership assignment.
Appiah Kusi Adomako ESQ
Board MemberAppiah Kusi Adomako ESQ is the consumer representative on the Ghana Standards Authority Board. He is an economist, lawyer, and policy advocate whose work bridges the fields of law, economics, and public policy. He currently serves as the Director at the West Africa Regional Centre of CUTS International, based in Accra, where he leads regional programs in trade and development, competition (antitrust) policy and law, consumer protection, regulatory economics, investment, health and education policy, and private sector development. With over two decades of experience, he has built a reputation as one of West Africa’s leading voices on competition regulation, market reform, and consumer welfare.
Appiah began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He later earned a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an Executive Education in Strategic Leadership from Harvard Business School, a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law from King’s College London, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Antitrust Law and Economics from George Mason University. He also holds an LLB from the University of London and a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, after which he was called to the Ghana Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
His professional experience spans extensive consultancy work with international organizations, including the World Bank, World Economic Forum, ECOWAS Commission, ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority, DFID, USAID, DANIDA, GIZ, the European Union, Facebook, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and Ghana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. His projects have focused on competition and consumer protection, trade and investment facilitation, regional integration, e-commerce, corporate governance, budget tracking, fiscal policy, road safety, and digital economy regulation.
In academia, Appiah has lectured at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Graduate School and currently teaches at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he lectures in the LLM Consumer Protection and Competition Law
program. His teaching and research focus on competition law, consumer welfare, and the economics of regulation.
Jane Dede Senam Tachie-Menson, ESQ.
Board MemberJane Dede Senam Tachie-Menson, ESQ. is a seasoned legal practitioner and corporate
advisor with over twenty years of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance,
litigation and mediation.
She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and holds a Qualifying Certificate in Law from
the Ghana School of Law m, an LLB from the University of Ghana and a B.A. from the
University of Cape Coast.
She currently serves as a Board Member of the Ghana Standards Authority, contributing to
national regulatory oversight and governance. Jane is also Co-Founder of TM & Partners, a
consulting and legal services firm providing advisory, litigation, and contract review services.
In addition, she volunteers with the Legal Aid Commission, where she represents and
advises clients.

and access to justice
Samuel Akrofi
Board MemberAssistant Commissioner Samuel Akrofi is a Customs Officer and an international trade specialist. He is head of the Ghana Customs Laboratory and Scientist-in-Chief for the Ghana Revenue Authority. AC Akrofi has over nineteen years’ experience in various senior positions in Customs.
His expertise spans the area of international trade security, with a focus on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) risk mitigation. He is an expert with the Strategic Trade Control Enforcement Program of the World Customs Organization, a Frontline Officer Instructor with the International Atomic Energy Agency and currently serves as an expert on the Africa Working Group on substandard and falsified medical products for the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). He is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Cape Coast. He additionally serves as member of the governing board of the National Biosafety Authority.
AC Akrofi holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Master of Art degree in Peace, Security and Intelligence Science from the University for Professional Studies, Accra and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is a graduate of the Executive Leadership program at the Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
He is the representative of the Ghana Revenue Authority on the board of the Authority.

Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse
Board MemberCEO, Environmental Protection Authority, Ghana. Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, the Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority, is a distinguished Ghanaian expertise in climate modelling, climate change impacts, Solar Radiation Management, adaptation, and mitigation strategies, particularly in Africa. She has been involved in various high-profile research projects and has contributed significantly to global climate assessments, including her work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the Vice Chair of Working Group I. She is a full professor, researcher and served as the Head of the Department of Physics at the University of Ghana from August 2023 to January 2025. She attended the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, where she dove into the complex details of physics. She then attended the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Italy for her doctoral studies in climatology.

Michael Agbeko Kwadjo Seneyah
Board MemberMr. Michael Agbeko K. Senayah has an MPHIL in Food Science and M.A in International Develoment Studies. He Joined the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness in 2004 and was the head of the Standards Division of the Ministry from 2014 to 2019 and while at that position was appointed the Project Director for the TRAQUE Programme, which was a EU funded project to upgrade the National Quality Infrastructure of Ghana.
He was then appointed as the Trade Attachè to the Embassy of Ghana in Japan from 2019 to 2024. Currently the Head of the Industrial Parks & Special Economic Zone Division at the Ministry.
