A delegation from LANDFILLS2LANDMARKS (L2L), an NGO formed to address a gap in global textile policy, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), Prof. George Agyei, to officially invite him to the institution’s Summit 2026.

The delegation was led by the organization’s co-founders, Mr. Samuel Ofori-Gyampoh, and Mr. Henry Treku.
During the visit, the L2L team extended an invitation to Prof. Agyei to participate in the Plenary Session on May 20, 2026, where he is expected to deliver remarks on the theme: “Strengthening Standards and Compliance in Informal Trade: The Role of Traceability in Supporting Quality Assurance and Enforcement.”
According to the organizers, this year’s summit seeks to move beyond theoretical discussions by demonstrating practical solutions through the “Live Bale Lab,” an initiative designed to show how traceability systems can function effectively within informal market settings.
The initiative aims to support standards enforcement, improve compliance monitoring, and strengthen regulatory oversight within the textile trade value chain.
Prof. George Agyei, on his part, expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to collaborating with Landfills2Landmarks in promoting traceability systems that align with national quality standards and regulatory frameworks.
He noted that strengthening traceability and compliance mechanisms remain critical in enhancing standards enforcement, improving quality assurance processes, and supporting effective regulatory oversight within both formal and informal trade sectors
