The Managing Director (MD) of Crocodile Matchets (Ghana) Ltd., Mr. Sjoerd Grueter on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, called on the Director-General (DG) of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), Professor George Agyei to discuss a partnership to fight against the proliferation of imported counterfeit and sub-standard matchets in the country.
Mr. Grueter, who was accompanied by his Finance Director, Mr. Charles Atuahene noted that his institution has high respect for GSA and was confident that the meeting would yield a positive result and strengthen the partnership between the two bodies.
“It’s an honor to meet the DG and his team. We are confident that this meeting will yield a great result and will strengthen the partnership between GSA and my institution,” he said.
Prof. Agyei, on his part, expressed the Authority’s commitment to protecting consumers and empowering local businesses and assured them of his support to weed out sub-standard and counterfeit machetes on the market.
“We are committed to protecting consumers and empower business, manufacturers and in doing so we build capacity of them to deliver. We will work with you to help weed out sub-standard products on the market,” Prof. Agyei noted.
