Wednesday, May 20, 2026, marked World Metrology Day and as part of the celebrations, staff at the head office of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), embarked on an outreach at the Shiashie traffic light to sensitise and educate the public on metrology and its importance in daily life and across various industries.
The outreach included the distribution of flyers, public education sessions, and interactive talks delivered in local dialects to ensure clear understanding. Some senior staff also participated in the sensitisation exercise, including Madam Barbara Apefa Wuttor, Acting Director of Administration, and Dr. Maxwell Kogbe, Director of Biochemical Sciences.
A photo session was held to capture key moments from the engagement.
The initiative reinforced GSA’s commitment to raising public awareness on measurement standards, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of metrology and its critical role in promoting safety, fairness, and quality across society.
