As part of efforts to promote religious tolerance and inclusivity, the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) organized its inaugural Iftar, a Ramadan ritual marking the breaking of fast.
The event, which drew Muslim staff at the Authority’s head office, was graced by Dr. Awal Mohammed, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations (DDG-OPS).
In his address, Dr. Awal stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among Muslims, highlighting the core values of Islam.
He also took the opportunity to engage with attendees, listening to their concerns and challenges, and assured them of the Authority’s commitment to addressing these issues.
Notably, Dr. Awal announced plans to make the Iftar an annual event – a testament to GSA’s dedication to fostering a harmonious and inclusive work environment.
Iftar signifies breaking of fast, and it is a practice held before the Magrib (Sunset) prayers.
